Our story begins with the post-graduate design research project at Chiba University Japan. It was when we realized that a good research project should be implemented in order to deliver a greater impact on others.
K I T A was born with the aim to implement the research-based design to create a good craft-based product which in turn will bring positive impacts for many people, starting from the craftsmen themselves.
We took the word “K I T A”, from the Indonesian language which also means: ‘emphasize togetherness’. K I T A dedicates a percentage of revenue to our craftsmen and give scholarship to their family because we believe everyone deserves an opportunity to empower and upgrade themselves.
K I T A is not just a brand, we want to create a movement.
